Roofs

When thought is put into the style and finish of a roof, it can be the distinguishing element of a building. Taking into account the environment for your Shomera, along with your personal preference, we will help you determine the best style of roof as well as the material finish.

A traditional apex roof (common pitch) provides ample interior ceiling height, as do off-set apex or duo-pitched roof which also offer alternatives designs to the structure. A mono-pitch or flat roof offers a contemporary style to the building.

Where a project can avail of the allowances under exempted development, we design the roofs to comply with the height allowance under exempted development. Click here for more information on planning permission.

Roof Materials
We offer a variety of options for the external roofing material. We use traditional concrete tile or slate finish, profiled steel tile sheeting, natural slate with an interlocking design to cater for lower pitches, raised seam zinc roof and a heat-welded, single-ply roofing membrane for flat roofs.

Roof Windows
When natural light can be brought back into your Shomera through the roof we recommend doing so. In most instances we use a Velux roof window system because of their proven quality, weathering and durability. We also provide a fixed glazing panels and roof lanterns for flat roofs, as well as structural glazing.
