This semi-detached Dublin home had a series of older additions, built pre 1963, that no longer suited the family’s lifestyle or layout needs. The client wanted a more functional, light-filled living space with a better connection to the garden. We redesigned and reconfigured the ground floor with a seamless renovation and a modest but highly effective single-storey extension – delivering a modern, practical, and beautiful home transformation.
The homeowners approached us with a clear goal: to improve the flow, natural light, and usability of the ground floor. With an east north east-facing garden and a sloped site, the existing spaces felt dark and disconnected from the outdoors. Our client also wanted to convert their underused garage into a more purposeful space and refresh the kitchen, utility, and bathroom areas – all while keeping within planning-exempt guidelines.
Working with the constraints of the site and the existing structure, our in-house architectural team developed a smart design strategy:
The finished home feels fresh, bright, and highly liveable – with a natural connection to the garden and a more thoughtful use of space throughout. The kitchen, bathroom, and utility areas now serve the family’s needs more effectively, and the new office space adds real everyday value.
